MOA
MY STORY
It all began after the birth of my daughter Jemima, who suffered very badly from eczema. After using prescribed creams, I started to research the ingredients and was alarmed at the long-term effects of petrochemicals so widely used in these products. It was my dream to create something natural to ease her itchiness and discomfort. As a child, I loved nothing more than mucking about outside, making potions and finding wild creatures to play with, even in the freezing cold. It was my haven of escape, and still is today. This grew into a fascination of herbalism and the folklore surrounding wild plants such as yarrow, a favourite with herbalists due to its array of powerful properties.
Growing up I was surrounded by art, both my parents were prolific artists. I now get to express my artistic side through the hand drawn illustrations on the MOA packaging and take my inspiration from magical folklore and mythology. I believe the outer packaging of the finished product is as important as what’s inside, I’m constantly trying to refine each aspect.
MOA products combine yarrow with other herbal extracts and botanical oils to create products that soothe, cleanse and revitalise. Taking time to slow down and nurture oneself is important to our health, I love the ritual of wellbeing and the therapeutic effect it has on both mind and body.
The yarrow within MOA products is grown on an organic farm in Somerset, where I’ve helped sow the seeds and reap the harvest. I now live back in Somerset with my family and have plans to cultivate an abundance of wild flowers!
